Throughout this lesson we will be using Big Marketing Forum as an example.

It is recommended that you open a new window or tab with http://BigMarketingForum.com/Forum so you can follow along with the guide.

The first thing you will want to do is register for the forum. When you register for a forum you are creating a place for you information to be stored in the database. Most forums require 4 things at a minimum these are:

1. Your Name

2. Your Email

3. A Username

4. A Password

You should always use an email that you check often when signing up for forums. The first reason for this is most forums require you to verify your email address before you can access the forum. This is to make sure you entered the right email address when you signed up. Also, as you will learn later on in the guide using an email you check often can make your forum experience as productive as possible.

Your username can be anything you want it to be. Most marketers use the same username whenever they sign up for something. If you do not have a username that you use, you can come up with one. Some people use goals for their username such as "FutureMillionaire" some use nicknames, you can make it easy and use your first initial and last name also. Whatever you choose make it something easy to remember as your username will be associated with you on the forum for as long as you are a member.

Your password should be one you can remember easily but it is hard to figure out. It is recommended not to use personal details as your password such as your spouses name, your child's name etc. these can be figured out and then someone can enter your account. Ok let's get started. I will now show you how to register for a forum.

Click on the link below to open up Big Marketing Forum. Clicking on it will open Big Marketing Forum up in a new window. If you would like to open it in a new tab on your brower, right click on it and then select open in new tab:

The picture below shows you where to click so you can register click on the register button now.

You will now be on the registration page. The picture below has several arrows and I will tell you what to do by the color of the arrow:

The RED Arrow points to the form where you enter your username that you want to use. Click in the box and type in your username. You can now hit tab to go to the next box, or just click in the box next to the PURPLE

Arrow. This is the box where you will enter your email address. Be sure it is one you check often as mentioned above. Now click in the box below the YELLOW Arrow. By clicking here you will hide your email from the public. The only people who will be able to see your email our you and the owner of the forum. In the box that the GREEN arrow is pointing to enter your password. Remember to write it down so you don't forget it. In the box that the PINK Arrow is pointing to, reenter your password to make sure you got it right. In the box that the BLACK Arrow is pointing to, enter the series of letters above the box. This is to keep spammers that use programs to sign up for programs automatically out of the forum. When you are happy with what you have entered, read the terms below the information you have entered. When you get to the bottom of the page, click in the box next to the words "I Agree" and then click on the Register button. Congratulations you have taken the first step to registering for a forum.
